Was wondering if I could get any feedback on my demo? Thank you for your time.

Hi Paxton,

I thought I'd return the favour and critique your demo. My overall impression is really good. It's well edited and produced and has lots of energy, although there is one edit just before "Spiderman" that's a little strident. I would say you have locked down the sound that is hot now. As a general comment I felt you could have been a bit more expressive with the words (when the script provided them), at times you were rattling them a bit but we all need to get better at that! In my opinion the demo sells your sound well.

Are you getting many leads through Voice123, Paxton?

Hey Gary!

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with your comment about the spot before Marvel. Unfortunately, all the spots on this demo are actual spots, and this is what the producer requested read wise. I just became a premium member in July, and have landed two gigs. The way I look at it though in addition to my agency work is that the more you put yourself out there the more opportunity to make contacts, and land possible jobs. Thank you again for the kind words.

Pax

Paxton:
That's a leadership kind of demo; showing the way. Great job.
My only small kvetch would be that 3-4 spots sound identical - right on; but identical.
Mightn't you concoct a slight variation, or leave a couple out? The x-box clip grabbed me the most; and i thought the ending was boffo and innovative.
Agree with other post that you have today's vogue tone going: everyday+plus+plus.

Robert,

You are too kind. Thank you for the critique. I'll look into re-vamping some of those spots.

Cheers!

Pax, you found your niche for sure. I liked all the spots; the slight break in the Marvel spot would be something I might revamp to bring the last word, "cast," into focus more - but it's not essential. I do think I'd move the first two clips to the end. I liked the X-box spot the best and would start your demo there, go with the next few spots to the end, then after the TV hiss on the cable spot, seque to the ESPN spot, then I'd cut the first line on the Cartoon Network spot and start on the word "October." It tightens what I think is your least strong spot, but still ends on a nice note - kind of winds the demo down. Delivery is great. I almost got excited about watching ESPN.

How cool to do a spot for Marvel! I love Marvel comics!

Hey Nikki!

Thanks so much for the advice on my demo. I just re-vamped it, and had inserted the Marvel spot in a couple weeks back. You're right about the way cast ends. I'll do a lil re-order. Thanks again Nikki!
