Hi everybody,
I haven't been on here before so be gentle with me!
I can't believe it, finally...I have been approached by a radio station to quote for 35 second adverts on their station. I haven't got a clue what to charge. I was thinking an hourly rate? Any comments would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Sally |

Sally,
Congrats! I found a price guide from this site a while back but am having a hard time finding the link again--perhaps Freddie may have it.
However, I DO have a copy of the Word doc on my computer and can send it to your email if you'd like. (PM me your address if you prefer as well).
Cheers,
Cameron |

In order to help you properly we'll need more details. In th UK one 30 second radio could be $30 or $3,000. _________________ British voice over www.philipbanks.co.uk

Sally, I'm in a northern Ohio market. A small radio station in my town may only pay $30-50 for the same commercial that a highly rated Clear Channel station in Cleveland might pay $100 for.
Is it the only market the spots will play in? Lots to consider and no "right" answer.
Another thing to consider is doing some of the work in trade for your own ad time. Do you (husband/whomever) have another business that you could market? Something to consider.
One other thing... on future posts, using a more directly descriptive subject will get you better responses. Something like "Help with radio spot rates" or somesuch. _________________ Grant Holmes, voice over talent, vocalist, actor and web spokesperson.
