Well, this proves you're a real man -- last minute shopping. Or, in the case of voice actor men, last minute sound editing.
And it also proves something else -- Miranda rights should be read to us all. Anything we say can be held against us. Who would have thought an innocent alternative, updated characterization of the wife of Bath from the Canterbury Tales might be twisted this way? Sure, I know, EVERYBODY says that, but for me, it's true!

Diane, I missed the boat, the dog ate my homework and didn't you hear there's now a law against punctual birthday greetings in Attenborough village (we should never have voted in that new Moo-garby fella at the town hall...).
Anyway, as a late (and not very personalized!) birthday offering - here's an ancient ditty which helped to land me my first ever voice job - for BBC Radio Comedy, back in 1996 (warning - cassette-quality sound!).

Glad you liked it, Diane.
It was originally done as a bit of a parody of the prevailing small-minded attitude towards the influx of foreign footballers (soccer players) into the English game in the 1990's - a kind of sporting spoof on Noel C's classic 'Mad Dogs And Englishmen'. I'm sure the real Mr Coward would have had rather different lyrics!
You make a good point about the fluctuating definition of the term 'foreigner', too. Most of us have been one at some time. Persoanlly, I'm happy to feel like an outsider everywhere I go - helps with the character voices! Still, this forum is starting to feel dangerously like 'home'...

Yes. I got that delightful Coward style -- well done. Foreigner is a sweeter word today than the rapidly becoming pejorative one -- "alien". Usually tacked on to "illegal."
