Hi!
I want to be able to get a voice over job being a station voice. I've tried direct contact with various stations to see if the program director would email me some liners/promos and they say they will but never do. Do I need to go through a third party to get work? I'm at a loss over what to do.
Regards,
Hail

if you have a demo for radio imaging, send it to them. a program director isn't just going to send you copy for you to read for an audition.

also, try getting in contact with radio consultants.

Liners and imaging are as close as your radio. Just tune up and down the dial. Figure out the types of stations you'd make the best fit with. If you sound young and hip, lift some liners from your local CHR station. Maybe you're a better fit with the AC or Classic Rock. Go online and find radio stations that are streaming; take liners from them.

The idea isn't here's what I've done; it's "here's what I can do." After you put together your demo, then it's time to beat on doors and deal with the rejection. Once you get a gig, make sure to ask them to send you some of your stuff after they've produced it to improve your demo. After all, they're always a work in progress.
