And, folks, let's seriously think about changing the name of this popular thread. Amy's right: calling it a Demo of the Day is a complete misnomer that makes us sound pretty stupid.
A demo is a well-known term in our industry.
These, of course, are Auditions of the Day.
I suggest:
Auds and Ends
Aud Jobs
Aud Infinitum

Agitate On!

Welcome back. I missed you so much. I found myself wandering aimlessly with a sense nameless dread all week. This morning seeing your post restarting the DoD thread gave me hope that all might be right in the world.

BTW when are you drawing for the free year? Laughing

I'm with Robert on the name change.

I vote for Aud Job (I love that Bond character).

I just spoke with someone about this in another room... I posted a read as a demo and was told the difference. Afterwards, I realized there was a group that was names "Demo of the Day" that consisted of a bunch of auditions or reads.... Vote me in for the change! Wink

Hi Jeffrey - don't think we've chatted before. Nice to make your acquaintance, sir...

I thought your Dave Gorden piece had a lot going for it in terms of intonation and emphasis. However, the one thing I felt it lacked somewhat was emotion. I didn't get the feeling that you were particularly bothered about all of Dave's merits that you were mentioning. I bet you'd be a natural for more conversational-style reads, but this one needed a bit more drama and conviction, methinks...
