| What are the best websites that list casting calls, such as the one on backstage.com? |

Joe: I'm surprised no one is responding here, as I'd like to know this as well. Perhaps the POWERS that be, (Jody, is it you???) are keeping this on the down low, as to not arouse any competition.
I'm listed on guru, but have never gotten a voiceover job from them, altho I periodically bid on projects. I think I've heard that craigslist has casting calls, but maybe that's just people looking for unsuspecting young wanna-be actresses. I read somewhere theres' an egroup on yahoo I think for west coast area actors.. You might check yahoogroups.
sorry, I'm out of good ideas. Best luck.

As you can see Heather, Voice123 has an open door policy and the posts have not been changed or removed that include information about competing sites.
Thanks for all of your input! |

Jody; I was being facetious ... I know how much you all love the free market and embrace all voiceover sites with loving care!

Deby: It's for all types of gurus...primarily computer related ones. Yes, its GURU.COM. Weren't you the one who writes jingles for ads? Apologies if I'm getting you mixed up, but I had a notification from someone looking for a jingle creator on guru just this week. They do get some decent broadcasting leads. I didn't pay for a membership, so my demo can't be just clicked on, someone has to physically visit my website to hear my demo, but it is another potential source of income.
HTH.

I highly recomment Guru as an adjunct to Voice123. Even as a free member they will e-mail you with jobs that match your profile, until you use up your alloted monthly bids. The work I've gotten through them has not been frequent, but I've scored some very lucrative gigs, including an ongoing job supplying audio for birthday e-cards.

I've gotten at least one job off of Guru. (I think maybe two.) The leads are infrequent but I'm supposing they don't get 200 responses like at 123 either. I am also a free member but when I put my URL in the bid, it makes a link so it's simply click-click and they can hear my demos. Someone told me they didn't allow URL's but it's always worked for me. _________________ www.ColinCampbellVoice.com

You're right Colin. I asked Guru directly about including a link to a demo, and they said it was OK. If you're a paid member you're allowed to post a permanent demo, but really, what's the difference.
