Since I am self-employed I have private coverage. I have a $5,000 deductible which keeps my monthly premium at a rate I can afford. It only covers me, I have no dental, eye care or frills. After I meet my deductible it is 80/20 coverage. Rx coverage is decent, better than no coverage.
I would also be very interested in a group policy if that is ever something that is being seriously considered.

I don't have health insurance. I looked into getting some and at $100 a month you would still have a deductable of $5 grand. I figure I need to save the $100 a month so I can save for the 5 grand. I find insurance only pays off if you have cancer. The only reason I have car insurance is because it's the law.

It's amazing how many people have absolutely no benefits. I too am self-employed and came across a discount benefit plan that impressed me so much that I now work for them on the side....I save up to 50% at the doctors and between 50 and 80% at the dentist....
