I just got an email yesterday to come to NYC to read for the voice over department of an agency that I found on voicebank. Now I had theatrical and commercial agents long ago in Cali and Texas, but that was for on camera stuff. I got those with headshots and resumes. This is the first voice over audition for an agent. He asked me in the email if I went to school and what my availability was. I think he thinks I'm a teenager or college student. I hope he's not going to be dissappointed with my real age. I'm so excited! I just had to tell someone. Ofcourse I haven't actually been taken in, but this is a good step in that direction.

Joe, your so funny. I get the feeling that they are looking to add some rather young voices at this agency. Which knocks all the guys out on here except perhaps Simon, who does not live in NY. However, have you sent your mp3s to agents in NYC and done follow up calls? Have you tried? You know I didn't know anyone or anything. They just liked my demo. Hopefully they will like my audition too...(fingers crossed, knock on wood, rub the budda statue, and pray to God on Knees.)
Oh by the way, I only live an hour and 10 min from NYC and he said he didn't usually take on CT talent. He softened up when he heard how close to NYC I am. This particular agency only takes on local talent. |

I'm just trying to get an agent not get arrested. This agency isn't on a nude beach, you know.
Although that's not bad advice for some sleezy modeling agencies in Houston. |
