Ok, Scott, Joe, Lisa,

What's the update on everyone? I am getting a little bit better. Still coughing and feeling winded. I spoke with the doc's office yesterday. Whatever this stuff is they think it's viral and it is just hanging on and on. There next suggestion for me was to go see a pulmonary person....which I am not going to do at this point.
Basically since 'it' seems to be viral there is not much more they can do for it except let it run it's course. I have been fighting this since St. Pat's weekend!!!

Ok, not to be to gross....but has anyone ever used one of those saline nose pot thingies?

Oh NOW I'm MAD!!! motz

I just landed ANOTHER job from V123, but had to turn it down. I had hoped to be feeling better by now....and I AM. But I'm certainly not sounding better. My nasal passages are still clogged up, and now this cold is seeping down into my chest, and I sound absolutely HORRIBLE. Its just not budging either. I'm no longer feverish and achy, but the havoc on my chest and nose just seems to be festering...getting worse and worse each day. I've got TWO local jobs on hold because of this crap. One of them WILL wait on me and not get someone else, but the other one may not. And then to have to turn down work from HERE as well....

Oh I just wanna bang my head against a WALL!!! Its so AGGRAVATING!

That really Sucks!! I am so sorry to hear that Lisa.

I feel your frustration....... I am working on eight weeks........... Crying or Very sad
I only felt 'sick' for one week in the beginning. The rest of the time it has been a cough and feeling winded.........

Have you been to the doc yet?

Hang in there girlie!!

Hey Heather,

I'm at about 95%, thanks to rest and anti-biotics.
Tried singing yesterday, and I'm still missing the top of my range.
Headaches much less today, and my nose seems almost normal.

As for the saline nose pot, it's called a Neti pot (sp?), and I was curious for years about them. Then my wife's ear/nose/throat Dr started her on a NeilMed saline rinse. MUCH MUCH Easier!

It's basically a squeeze bottle (8 oz), and you fill it with warm water and one of their pre-measured packets. Then you put it on one nostrill and gently squeeze. The water runs up and out your other nostrill or out of your mouth.

Once you get past the "HELP! I'M DROWNING!" response, they're pretty good... I can honestly say that this has been the best 6 months, nasally speaking.

There are other brands too. You can order the NeilMed one online, or find it at the pharmacy. Cheap, easy, effective - Two Thumbs Up (my nose) from me!!!

How's everyone else doing?
Joe

Whoa! Lisa and Heather... I really hope you're on the downside of this thing.

So sorry it's dragging on this long.

Doctors, rest, fluids, nasal rinse... whatever it takes.

Does this seem like it's going around, and is particularly nasty compared to past years?

Joe

Well Joe...looks like I'm just now climbing the upside of this thing, rather then coasting the downside. New complication just arose today, and it may be very serious.

Ever since my sinus infection last month, it was my left nostril that gave me the most grief. If it wasn't feeling like there was a pin sticking it, then it was completely stopped up, and/or very runny. All of you guys have been saying you have been hearing a lot of nasality in my demos since, and I've done everything I can to try and clear that up.

Tomorrow will be a week since I've come down with this cold I've got now, and once again, its the left nostril giving me the most problems. And today, I learned why.

(This is a little gross, so my apologies up front)

Earlier this afternoon, I was blowing my nose and trying to clean out some blockage with a kleenex. And it felt like there was a great big huge boogie in there that needed to come out. I tried swiping at it, and blowing, but it wouldn't come out. Then my nose started bleeding. I got that stopped and decided to get a pen light and look up there to see what the deal was. It was definitely no boogie. It is some kind of growth in my nostril.

I thought....surely to God tumors don't grow in your NOSE! So, I got online and looked around a bit...and sure enough...they do. Furthermore...I'm showing symtoms of sinus cavity tumors, which include pain beneath the eyes, frequent runny nose and sinus irritations, nose bleed, blockage in only one nostril, and there were a few others that I can't really recall right offhand. But the worst part I read about was the survival rate of nasal cancer....they said its less than 50% and often comes back, so you have to have frequent check ups for the rest of your life, if you DO beat it.

It was too late to make an appt with the doctor today when I discovered it. So, I'll make one first thing tomorrow morning. I'll keep you posted as to the results. But...I would like to ask for your prayers. I'm absolutely terrified right now, and just feel like I need all the prayer I can get. Thanks.

Lisa ....It may just be a polyp in the nose. That still requires surgery, but its not cancer...so don't freak out. My old boss had that. I will pray for you too.

Lisa, Lisa....you don't know that this is cancer, so you've got to think good thoughts, positive pictures in your head. It could easily be a polyp or even some cartilage. ?? I know you won't get much sleep tonight, but just insist on seeing a doctor right away, they can take a biopsy I betcha right away.
Let us know when you know something. Sending good postitive, healing thoughts your way. Smile

Hi All!
The thing I use when this happens to me, is triple-strength garlic, horseradish, vitamin C and fenugreek tablets.
Seriously, you just have to smell on of these tablets and you can feel your nose, etc drying up!!
Give it a go....you won't be disappointed.

....it's also good for keeping mosquitoes, vampires and Tax Office agents at bay!

Steve

Dammit Freddie.....you don't have an emoticon being attacked by a vampire!
*sigh* it's just not good enough.......how am I meant to make a silly point if you don't have enough silly emoticons?

Smile
