Hello everyone!!! I'm a bilingual vo talent who is not necessarily new to the industry, just inexperienced. I have been doing vo for years. I started a few years ago while working as an in-house translator. This company is HUGE and they had an in-house studio where they produced all their films and videos, and I voiced many of them in Spanish. I did many in-house seminars with professionals (I don't even remember their names anymore but one lady was a vo coach and consultant for Disney--they were good classes). I have to be honest that I had no idea this was a real job. Pretty naive. I did it on the side, got paid very little hourly, and just did it for fun. My strength was lip sync. I could do a whole movie with few retakes. Who knew people made money doing this! lol

So fast forward a few years and here I am, trying to make a go of it again. I haven't done any serious work in years. I have a couple of clients who use me a couple of times a year. So now I married a radio DJ who has set up a studio in our house. We have protools, professional microphones, etc. Very well set up. I put my demo on V123 but haven't received a lot of response. I guess Spanish isn't needed as much. I do English but I do have an accent. I know my voice isn't "announcer-ish". It's more of a character voice. But it's not bad.

Ideas? Suggestions? I have done quite a bit of modeling but I don't have any voice over contacts to speak of. And what about all those movies and videos I did years ago??? The studio has changed employees since and no one seems to know where any of the stuff I did is, so I no longer have it.

Help!! I want to do this again. I love it.

Hi Lelaini,

Take a look through the postings in the forums - plenty of advice already out there...

Start with books, classes, etc. Learn the industry and what is required of you to compete.

You're so lucky to be bi-lingual!

Seriously though, best of luck with it all, you have a good background experience and a pleasant voice so i'm sure you will do well.

Welcome Lelani!
Adam is right very lucky to be bi-lingual. I can't even speak one language proficiently.

Lelani,
Welcome to the forum and we look forward to hearing more from you. I also am bi-lingual and have had more opportunities in Polish than I have had in English. I think there are plenty of opportunities for a Spanish speaking female here at V123. Good Luck

Welcome! There have been several Spanish leads in recent weeks so you should have a good shot at them.

Like Debbie mentioned, revisit old contacts and just see what happens.

Cheers,
Cameron
