I am always making new demos and would like a female voice for the slate (so it wont be mistaken for me). Maybe someone out there would like to set up a trade?

Thanks to all who PM'd me. This was fun and I am still open to other takers. Aside from slates, there is probably a bunch of voice over related services we could trade each other. Maybe a new forum? Next to Selling & Buying? For instance, I often have clients looking for other talent when working on projects with multiple voices. Maybe we can set up some alliances here on the forums?

Great idea Erik!
I have the front bumper and right rear quarter panel off of a 1971 dodge dart that I will take cash or trade for. Must love the color chartreuse.

Yeah, I said "voice over related services." I must admit though that my Dart could use some body work. Of course, mine is harvest gold so I'm not sure if we can work something out.

But Erik,
Don't you think having the right autobody parts on your front lawn lends intrinsic believability to your reads?

I mean here in East Tennessee you cain't even record answering machine messages for someone unless you have worn out tire flower pots with three foot high weeds growing in them.

Folks'll know you ain't qualified.

One of the biggest jobs early in my career happened when I moved to Austin Texas after being born and raised on Long Island my whole life. I was a 25 year old Yankee and was hired to play the "Voice of Texas" for the state board of tourism which the director wanted to sound old and authentic. I decided to do a Wilford Brimley (sp?) imitation and got one of my first big gigs of my life ($600). I am not a character voice guy to this day so I don't know how it happened but it kept me motivated. But, now that you mention it, I did have some car debris on the lawn of my apartment building from the shop next door......I guess that visual stimuli seeped into my unconscious somehow.

George, I see there's no way to post this on a PM, so I had to post it here, just cuz I want you to see how I tried to audition as a southern gal a while ago. (never got the gig) I did spend two years in OKC working for the Hertz Corporation a long time ago, dodging tornados and learning the lingo. Traveled thru the Smokey Mtns as a child too but that's about it.....Fake Southern accents can be so detected by you in the south.... embrace yours!

Debbie-
that is a riot. I think you posted that somewhere is here didn't you?

It really is a pretty good southern bell.

You got to get gritty to do trailer trash southern though.

I've been thinking about changing slates as well...looking for another voice. I'd be up to trade as well. Keep me in mind.

Thanks.

I'll throw my name in the hat as well. I'll be doing some additional demos soon, and I'd like to have a few slates to use. Great idea, Erik!
