Is your Demo on a Beta? If so, most television studios still use those recorders and may be able to bang you our a demo on CD for a small fee. I worked for a TV station and used to have people come in regularly with requests of a similar nature. Otherwise, there are quite a bit of online companies out there that will do conversions and duplications for you.

I would try locally first though....

In a similar fashio to using a 10 year old headshot, it might not seem the wisest move to dust off an old demo and use it. The pieces are probably pretty dated and might not play well to today's producers ear. Your voice may sound different.

There's a bunch of backstory that seems to be missing here, and you might need some brush up work.

However, if you want to have it turned into a digital piece, almost any recording studio from Singapore to New Jersey can do it. Alternatively, a posting on Craig's list will probably get you somebody who can do it for $10. There probably shouldn't be much more to it than running a cassette deck through a digital audio convertor and then cleaning up the files a little by taking away some of the natural tape hiss and perhaps throwing in a little EQ. If the tape is really old and hasn't been stroed well, you may have some problems, but this is pretty remote.

Look up digital audio , recording studios or tape transfer services in the yellow pages. There are also a number of places that can do it that advertise on the web like www.digitalpickle.com

And just for the record, it is a cassette and not a DAT right? DAT's are smaller and look something like mini DV tapes for the new digital cameras. While cassettes are those things with Night Ranger music on them.

Good Luck

I guess my best bet would be to call my old recording studio and see if they can transfer it for me.

Yeah, this is the reason why recording studios still have cassette decks. Give 'em a call.

I recently transferred a cassette to a CD for someone for $25 (this was an hour-long recording, and I did mastering on it, so it was a bigger project than transferring a 1-minute demo).
