Welcome Bob. Listened to your demos and as is my way to mention... you have "technical difficulties." Visit Geek Place and get some tips.

I HAVE been getting a lot of private leads and jobs doing impersonations, though. So there are clients out there who must like what they hear.I guess it's just a matter of opinion.

Hey Bob.... I'll jump in with a welcome and some feedback. At the moment I think I'll only have time to review your first demo; your cartoon voices, and later I'll look forward to listening to the others.

Colin is more than correct: the huge overmodulation, exploding plosives, and overall low-fi of the demo will send potential clients running for cover. However, on that particular demo it's almost a non-issue. As you'll learn from reading the forums AND the leads that come in, almost NO ONE is looking for impersonations. Oh, occasionally you'll get a really weird one, like wanting 'Dick Vitale' or 'James Earl Jones' (okay, you'll get a LOT of those) but I can honestly say I've never, ever, EVER seen a lead here looking for Homer Simpson or Mister T. Half of the clients are probably too young to even have a clue as to WHO Mister T was! The very few leads that ask for character voices are looking for an original character, NOT an impersonation, so you might just want to ditch that one from your page for now anyway.

But I gotta get to work, so I'll come back later in the week and try to post more. Welcome, and we look forward to hearing more from you!

Actually, most the jobs I DID get were impersonations. Many requests for George W Bush.NFL football players Marvin Harrison and Ricky Williams. As well as....thats right....Homer Simpson. I also have a company that wants me to do celebrity impersonations on their voicemail. Mr T now has a new reality show on TV Land called "I pity the fool". Radio personality Kevin Matthwews has a morning show in Grand Rapids WLAV FM does some impersonations on his show. And he does some of his own characters. The most notable, sports guy "Jim Shorts". Check it out WLAV.com It can be streamed world wide. You have to register first. After that you can hear it by just pushing "Listen Live".

Glad to hear it, Bob, but you may find those types of leads few and far-between here
.

That is true. But I have had a lot of interest and raves about my Demos. I will try maybe some new and improved sounds.I'll first invest on a top notch microphone. Hopefully I can smooth out my "rough around the edges" sound.
