Hey people! How do I find out about workshops and events that are coming up either in my area (NYC) or anywhere for that matter? Is there a central website, or several different websites?

Check out recording studios in NYC. They often have workshops and classes.

If the people's Improv Theater is still there, check them out

154 West 29th Street. Lots of v.o. actors, comics, and other performers frequent the classes there. A great place to find out about other goings on.

Around here, some community colleges offer classes and Discover U, which is a community-based learning forum. Worth a try in your area?

Check out Joan Baker! She's in NYC and teaches a "Business of voiceover" class as well as private coaching. I'm totally impressed with her work.

A good place to find workshops is the voice over Resource Guide, lovingly referred to as "the vorg" by VO hipsters.

All kindsa great stuff there! And yes, Joan Baker is amazing. She wrote an enjoyable book called The Secrets to voice over Success.
